Something new, every month

I love the quilting bee! I'm new to this quilting business, and every month there is something new to learn! This month it was a good old log cabin block. Dare I say it worked out just fine?

I love the bird, and made the birdie the well-deserved center of the block. Ta da!

love it! I can see it, if you keep going around and around and around...

I am fascinated by the construction on this. I can't figure out how it went together. normally the first piece off the center of a log cabin will be the same length as the center. but it doesn't look like it is on your block.
