braided block with spirograph embroidery

I finished my block with Nadia's fabrics.

common threads quilt block - braided blocks with spirograph embroidery

I made some braids, and then followed her hint about embroidery love and added a spirograph embroidery on top (inspired by this effort by Maitreya of craftlog). I think it picks up on the flower outlines of the gray-beige fabric too.

I hope you like it Nadia!

We sort of do the same thing, only different. LOL. There are 12 of us that get together and each month someone picks out the fabric, tells what size block they would like and the other 11 of us get to make whatever we want. There is a little more to it than that but it is pretty easy. I put a bunch of scraps in a bag and let everyone pick their own fabric out and told I wanted 12" "Village" blocks, library, quilt shop, beauty shop, whatever they wanted to make. I got some cute stuff, one girl made a school bus block with kids looking out the windows. HOW CUTE IS THAT!!!!!!! It it alot of fun!!!!!! Jeanne
